Young entrepreneurs take the reins at specialist recruitment agency

Two young entrepreneurs from Lincolnshire have fulfilled their dream of taking over the Lincoln franchise of one of the UK’s largest specialist recruitment agencies.

Peter Quittenton and Christian Salter bought Driver Hire Lincoln – part of nationwide franchise Driver Hire, which supplies temporary and permanent drivers and logistics staff to private and public sector organisations across the country – after their boss decided to sell up.

Quittenton, who worked on a farm before joining the company, said: “Over the last few years, at our appraisals, our boss asked us about our long-term plans.

“We always said, when he decided to sell, we’d love to make the business ours. And now our dream’s come true.”

Salter, who along with Quittenton is still in his early twenties, joined Driver Hire in 2014 as a school leaver apprentice and has spent the last eight years learning the recruitment business.

Quittenton added: “Our respective skill sets work really well together.

“We’ve got away to a flying start and there’s definitely more scope for us to develop the business further. We both love working for Driver Hire and now the business is ours it’s even more rewarding.”
