Student flats plans in historic Nottingham building get green light

Plans have been passed to turn the second first and second floors of a landmark Nottingham building into student accommodation.
Nottingham City Council has given the green light for the plans on the upper floors of the Grade II listed Carlton Buildings at 2-10 Broadway in the Hockley area of the city.
The work will include changing the current apartments over the first and second floor into 31 student bedrooms. A gym, common room and laundry will also be included over the two storeys.
The planning application was submitted by Simon Chamberlain. Next steps include submitting a Student Accommodation Management Plan to the city council.
The Carlton Buildings were built in 1881 and designed by Samuel Dutton Walker and John Howitt of Nottingham.
