Condiment brand reveals tasty expansion plans

Pam and James Digva

One of the UK’s fastest growing condiment manufacturers has told TheBusinessDesk.com it is planning to hire around 13 people over the coming year following its third round of crowdfunding.

Sauce Shop was founded in 2014 by Pam and James Digva. The Nottingham success story turned over £3m last year and currently employs 35 permanent members of staff.

It produces a wide range of ketchups, BBQ sauces, hot sauces and cooking sauces, turning out 50,000 bottles a week at its factory on Centurion Way.

Sauce Shop’s products are available in over 7,000 stores including Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda and Booths.

Now, ahead of its latest crowdfunding campaign, the firm has revealed it is looking to hire three senior members of staff and 10 operations and office workers by the end of 2023.

Its funding round is being backed by a group of angel investors led by ex-Samworth Brothers and Kerry Foods CEO Flor Healy.

The campaign is due to go live on Crowdcube next week.

Healy, who was recently appointed as Sauce Shop’s NED, said: “There is a fabulous track record of growth in Sauce Shop and the team can be very proud of what has been delivered. It is hugely rewarding to be able to work with two founders and their team, who are so passionate about the business, making a product that sells itself because of its quality.”

As well as investing in new talent, the brand says it will use the funding it raises to improve efficiencies at its manufacturing facility.
