Time called on Nottingham rooftop cocktail bar

A gin and prosecco bar in Nottingham city centre, which opened just three years ago, has closed.

Ginsecco opened in the city’s Cornerhouse leisure complex in May 2019 – after year of planning.

The fully-fitted rooftop unit in the Cornerhouse is now being marketed by Box Property, descrivbing it as having “fantastic panormaic views of the city”.

When Ginsecco opened, its ceneral manager Daniel Boulton, said: “To put it simply, Ginsecco will be a big old serving of British nostalgia with a good helping of all things Gin & Prosecco. A visit to see us should feel like a big, friendly hug after a long and weary day. Pure comfort.”

The news follows a similar high-profile bar closing. Olivia’s Townhouse in the Chapel Bar area of Nottingham has shut its doors for the last time. The 800-capacity venue is now available for new tenants, and is being marketed as either a bar or co-working space.
