Derby comedy club evicted from venue

The future of a Derby comedy club is unsure after it was barred entry to the venue it uses to stage its events.

TheBusinessDesk.com understands that the landlord has taken possession of Bar Social on Victoria Street, where ROFL Comedy Club operated, after it was owed a substantial amount of rent.

ROFL opened for comedy shows in Derby on Friday and Saturday nights, promising “top comedians from all over the country and the world”. The venue also served drinks and food to punters.

ROFL also has venues in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Loughborough. The company didn’t respond to TheBusinessDesk.com when we contacted them, but we believe that these venues are continuing to operate.

ROFL opened in Derby in September 2020. The club has, in the past, booked the likes of TV star Russell Kane.
