Scores of jobs at risk as packaging firm brings in administrators

ITEC's premises in Mansfield

A north Nottinghamshire packaging firm which makes products for the dairy industry has called in administrators FRP Advisory, throwing scores of jobs into doubt.

ITEC Packaging (Mansfield), which last year changed its name from Paccor, operates from a substantial factory in Hamilton Way in Mansfield. It also has a base in Chester-le-Street in the north-east.

In its latest accounts, made up to the end of 2021, it employed 126 people.

The same accounts show a sharp rise in losses for 2021 – up to just over £1.5m from £3,000 the year previously. This was attributed to price increases in materials, a reduction in the production of lids due to some retailers cutting back on single-use plastics and higher labour costs.

Revenue for 2021 grew slightly – to almost £27m.

At the time, ITEC (then Paccor) was looking to diversify into the confectionery market.

FRP Advisory, which was appointed on April 5, have been contacted for comment.
