On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Transport and logistics provider XPO has appointed a new director to lead its European business.
Emmanuel Arnaud, who takes the title of operations director – Europe, will serve on the executive board of the Northamptonshire firm’s European division.
Arnaud brings more than two decades’ industry experience to the role. Prior to XPO, he held senior positions during 18 years with GEFCO, most recently as divisional CEO with responsibility for road, air and sea freight, as well as customs and logistics operations.
He began his career in France with Groupe Giraud before serving as a general manager for TNT Logistics entities.
Luis Gomez, president – Europe at XPO, said: “Emmanuel is a tremendous asset to our European business and joins us at a time when we are unlocking potential across a wide range of verticals. His deep understanding of the connections among operations, sales and customer service will be invaluable in implementing our end-to-end solutions. I look forward to working closely with Emmanuel as we continue to execute our growth strategy.”
Motorfinity, the Newark-based specialist car discount service, has made a raft of new hires following a period of growth.
The company, which provides exclusive discounts for NHS and emergency services staff, social care workers, teachers and defence workers, now employs 47 people in total.
Olivia Wise, Jed Wilton, Dalil Yousif, Joseph Carrington, Meah Kirk and Katie Powell have joined Motorfinity’s sales team, while Zeeshan Malik, Olly Waszkiewicz and Megan Skerrit take on marketing roles.
Laura Clarke joins as leasing account manager, Albert Kubicki as operations assistant, Rebekah Hunt as executive assistant and Lucy Ford as assistant management accountant.
Three new apprentices – James O’Connor, Ben Bilton and Bella Thompson – complete the crop of new appointments.
Dean Skiba, COO at Motorfinity, said: “The last few years have certainly come with their challenges, but it’s also marked a period of extreme growth for us. The beginning of 2022 saw us move to the space we’re in now on Northern Road, Newark, and towards the end of 2022 we launched FinanceFinity which provides low rate finance for the UK’s service and care personnel. It only makes sense that 2023 has started with plenty of new faces to continue this growth.
“We’ve seen a huge increase in orders and enquiries and have been able to help more customers drive their ideal car that suits their needs. A new car often serves as a lifeline for so many of the nation’s critical workers and each year we work hard to support and make life a little bit easier for them to be able to afford a safe, reliable vehicle.”
