Turnover up at freight firm after year of investment

Nottingham logistics firm Baxter Freight has posted a rise in turnover after what it called “a year of new investment”.

The firm posted revenues of £37m in 2022, a rise of £6m on 2021. Profit, however, fell by £600,000 to £700,000.

The the number of consignments handled by Baxter Freight rose by 29% to 54,500, with average staff numbers up from 84 to 113 over the year.

Meanwhile, the company has created a new level of senior management, with associate directors promoted from across the business.

Managing director Peter Isler said: “These results reflect our innovation, our investment in digital transformation and our customer service which we believe is the best in the industry. The strength of our team has driven new solutions to help our customers navigate the complexities of a post-Brexit world and ready ourselves for the next round of challenges that the 21st Century will undoubtedly bring.”
