78 jobs saved as packaging firm sold out of administration

ITEC's premises in Mansfield

Seventy-eight jobs have been saved in Nottinghamshire after a plastic packaging designer and manufacturer was sold out of administration.

iTEC Packaging (Mansfield) has been snapped up by European firm ALPLA Group. The plant specialises in the production of closures mainly for dairy, but also food and beverage sectors. All remaining staff at the Mansfield plant will transfer to the new company.

Martyn Rickels, Allan Kelly and Simon Farr of advisory firm FRP were appointed as joint administrators to iTEC Packaging (Mansfield) and iTEC Packaging (Chester-Le-Street) on 5 April 2023. The sites employed 247 people.

ALPLA UK managing director Jens Seifried said: “With our global know-how, with this acquisition we can increasingly offer the UK dairy industry sustainable, efficient and innovative packaging solutions.”

The takeover was contractually agreed on 26 May. The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms and conditions.
