Vulnerable children’s home project in Lincolnshire commences

Willmott Dixon is set to finalise design proposals for a vulnerable children’s housing scheme.

The 28-bed secure facility in Sleaford received the approval of the planning and regulation committee of Lincolnshire County Council on July 31.

This initiative, backed by funding from the Department for Education, aims not only to offer care to the most vulnerable children in Lincolnshire but also to serve as a nationwide resource for secure accommodations.

The project includes a service road, parking, a water management pond, and landscaped zones.

Through Pagabo’s Major Works framework, Kier will serve as the project’s architect.

Nick Heath, director at Willmott Dixon, said: “This is a hugely significant scheme to help Lincolnshire address its need for secure accommodation. The new building has been designed to support the young people to get their lives ‘back on track’ using a whole host of facilities including on-site education, well-being, vocational and sports facilities, as well as delivering against important sustainability credentials to make the building’s legacy especially evident.”
