Grimsby’s Docks Beers is set to expand its brewing capacity due to investments from two well-known local accountants.

David Everatt and Kevin Hopper have become co-owners of the brewery, which has been operating for nearly five years at The Church on King Edward Street. They join three of the original founders, Mike Richards, Will Douglas, and Shahram Shadan.

The brewery, taphouse, and entertainment venue on King Edward Street have experienced a strong resurgence since the pandemic, with growing interest in their beers and hosted performances. Now, with the involvement of the two senior partners from Forrester Boyd, the team is looking to exapand further.

Owner of Grimsby Dock Beers, Will Douglas said: “We are delighted to have secured this investment from two of Grimsby’s foremost accountants. It is brilliant news for our business. Their funding will enable us to go for the next phase of growth. With a sharp increase in the number of events in Docks Academy and external mobile bar events, plus a big upswing in the amount of beer sold to trade and wholesale we are needing more beer now than ever before.

“This investment unlocks the path to additional beer production without which we will be unable to achieve our goal of becoming one of the UK’s most important craft beer breweries and arts venues.”
