East Midlands furniture manufacturer equips £18m primary school campus

Deanestor, a furniture manufacturer located in Mansfield, has furnished a new primary school in Scotland.

The £18m campus has been constructed to serve 500 students from Newmains and St. Brigid’s Primary Schools, in addition to a 100-place early years centre.

Deanestor supplied approximately 4,400 items of school furniture and equipment, outfitting more than 100 rooms.

Their contract included supplying teaching walls for 16 classrooms, benches, worktops, mobile computer hubs, and wall units for breakout spaces, along with adjustable shelving and storage cabinets throughout the school.

As a result of this new development, the Newmains and St. Brigid’s Community Hub in North Lanarkshire has been awarded both the prestigious Architecture Grand Prix Award and the Education Building Award at the 2023 Scottish Design Awards.

Will Tonkinson, managing director of Deanestor said: “This is a genuinely child-centric facility which provides a fantastic platform to deliver contemporary education whilst promoting social inclusion by incorporating valuable spaces for the wider community. The awards are well deserved and a credit to everyone involved in this wonderful school campus.”
