Green light for new homes at Chesterfield’s Waterside project

What the housing and apartments will look like

A planning application for over 100 houses and 40 apartments at Chesterfield Waterside has been given the green light.

Woodall Homes has obtained permission for a residential development with 103 houses and 41 apartments, including one, two, three, and four-bedroom options to cater to various preferences and buyer requirements.

This is part of a larger regeneration project which also includes two commercial units.

Development at Chesterfield Waterside is progressing quickly, with the completion of One Waterside Place, a seven-story office building that’s fully occupied by new tenants, including financial firms BHP and Rosewood Wealth Management, as well as the fashion brand Varley.

Darren Abbott, planning director at Woodhall Homes said: “We are thrilled that our Chesterfield Waterside application has now been approved.

“Sitting alongside the River Rother corridor, this development will transform the local area with modern, bespoke and energy-efficient properties plus comprehensive landscaping proposals, which include a linear riverside park with trim trail and a natural habitat edge that will provide a significant net gain in biodiversity.

“We can’t wait to reveal more details about the development over the coming months and see the exciting work getting underway as we look to further enrich the community.”
