Doughnotts relaunches online delivery service

An East Midlands bakery has relaunched a nationwide online doughnut delivery service due to high customer demand.

Dougnotts has partnered with two Nottingham-based companies, Legion Express, a courier delivery service, and Print4, a printing and packaging firm, to revive its delivery operations.

Doughnotts co-founder Wade Smith said: “We ended our delivery service to focus on getting the flavours and fillings spot on for a big relaunch. But, since then, we’ve been inundated with messages from a huge number of customers to bring it back. Looking to fill the hole, Doughnotts teamed up with local businesses to find a reliable shipping solution, which involved the special adaptation of some of the most popular flavours.

“After many weeks of trial and error exploring new delivery box designs and putting the transportation of our doughnuts to the test, we have now launched our new and improved delivery service. Some of our classic flavours weren’t suitable for shipping due to them being loaded with toppings that won’t stay in place in the post. So, we created stuffed versions of six classic flavours that have been loved since day one to create the brand-new Superfilled Classics box.”

The Superfilled Classics box offers a variety of flavours suitable for vegans or vegetarians, including cherry bakewell, scoff it (inspired by Biscoff), birthday cake, thicka than a snicka, weekend billionaire, and lemon meringue.

Other options available include the biscuit bonanza box (100% vegan, featuring cookies & dream, scoff it, and jammie dodger flavors), chocolate lovers, standard classics, premium classics, and build your own box.

Additionally, customers can choose from a selection of ‘Big Boy’ Doughnotts—eight-inch diameter supersized doughnuts designed to serve up to eight people.

Smith continued: “We reinvented these firm favourites so they are able to travel in one piece while still bursting at the seams with filling. This box joins our wider range of dipped, dusted and deep-filled doughnuts that are made in Nottingham and delivered nationwide.

“There are a mix of messages and gorgeous designs to suit a range of special occasions including birthdays, graduations and get well soon wishes, as well as sweet options for loved ones – because nothing says I love you like a doughnut.”

The doughnut boxes are also available at the firm’s chain of stores across the East and West Midlands, including Nottingham, Derby, South Normanton, Lincoln and Cannock.
