Housing developer gears up for 309-home development

Following Newark and Sherwood District Council’s approval of reserved matters, housing developer Lovell Partnerships is set to start building on a brownfield site in Nottinghamshire.

The development will include 309 houses and will be built on a brownfield site in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

It will feature a range of public amenities, including a children’s playground and tree planting.

The community will offer a selection of homes, including one, two, three, and four-bedroom semi-detached, detached, and terraced houses, as well as five bungalows.

Beth Bundonis, regional managing director at Lovell in the East Midlands, said: “The former Flowserve site in Newark offers incredible potential in terms of a strong location that is ideal for commuting to cities such as Nottingham and Lincoln, or to London. It will offer more choice and availability to local house hunters, creating modern and efficient homes for those looking to get onto the property ladder, downsize or wanting to scale up into a larger family home.

“Working with CB Collier throughout the planning process has been incredibly fruitful and all partners are aligned with the aim of regenerating this brownfield land into much-needed homes that support housing targets in the East Midlands.”

Edward Taylor, director at CB Collier said: “At CB Collier, we are passionate about redeveloping underutilised brownfield land and our mission statement is to create environments where people want to live and work. Since acquiring the former Flowserve site, we successfully navigated a series of complex planning applications and conducted extensive demolition, remediation, flood defence, and watercourse diversion works.

“We are very excited to announce the completion of the sale with Lovell. Since we were introduced to East Midlands team at Lovell, they have been incredibly professional, efficient and a pleasure to work with. We are grateful for their efforts in getting this ‘over the line’ and our team look forward to working with Lovell again in the future.”
