US bakery chain planning take a bite out of Nottingham

A US bakery chain is set to expand its reach to Nottingham.

Insomnia Cookies, which is based in New York and Philadelphia, wants to move into 16 Angel Row in Nottingham city centre.

16 Angel Row is Grade II listed and was built around 1800 as a townhouse. It soon became used for commercial purposes.

Insomnia Cookies will develop a new customer area along with new fascia boards and signages to the front of the existing building. Internal works include stripping out of existing floor finishes, suspended ceiling and wall finishes and replacing with new fire-resistant finishes. The internal fit-out includes also includes customer seating and
cooking equipment in the kitchen.

The company has over 260 stores, mainly across the US, but also in Canada. It sells or delivers cookies to customers.
