Next boss sees pay packet rise to over £4.7m

The boss of Enderby-based retail giant Next was paid £4.72m for the year to January 2025, the company revealed on Wednesday (April 9).

Lord Wolfson saw his salary rise by almost £900,000 last year. His pay was made up an annual wage of £1.16m along with £3.56m in bonuses.

He received a 2.8% increase to his basic wage – below the 6.8% average for staff in the company as a whole, Next pointed out.

Last month, fashion and homeware retailer saw annual pre-tax profits soar by 10.1% to £1.011bn for the year ending January 25, marking its first time surpassing the billion-pound mark.

Revenue also climbed 11.4% to £6.12bn, up from £5.49bn.
