Nottingham IT firm celebrates 15th anniversary

Nottinghamshire IT firm, Your IT Department, is marking its 15th anniversary since its founding by Lee Hewson and Simon Cox in 2009.

Starting as a small partnership in Eastwood, the business now employs 24 staff with an annual turnover of £2.4m, supporting over 100 businesses and more than 2,000 staff.

Managing director Lee Hewson said: “Initially, it was just me and Simon in a tiny office under the stairs of Mercury House in Basford. I never dreamt that 15 years later the company would have grown so successfully, with an annual turnover of more than £2m. It’s a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in delivering excellent customer service.

“It’s really important that we’ve remained an independent company, when many similar firms have been bought-up or have merged with larger organisations. These mergers often lead to a poorer customer experience, as that personal touch is lost and disillusioned staff look elsewhere.

“Our strength is in the dedication and loyalty of our employees and I’m sure it will be in the future, as the company continues to grow with a skilled and happy workforce.”
