Housebuilder unveils plans for 430 homes in Nottinghamshire
Plans for 430 new homes in Fernwood Village in Nottinghamshire have been submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council by housebuilder, Persimmon.
The proposed development will feature a variety of 1 to 5-bedroom homes, all equipped with EV chargers and solar panels.
Of these, 56 homes will be available for affordable rent, discounted market value and first homes.
The project is part of a larger site outlined in the local plan, with permission for up to 1,800 houses.
Under section 106, the wider development will invest over £7.4m in a new primary school and £1.7m in healthcare facilities, along with contributions to bus services, a community hall with sports facilities and green spaces including parks, SuDS and play areas.
In the first phase, Persimmon will deliver football and rugby pitches, changing facilities, allotments, and a central open space with a play area. The plan also includes new bus stops and transport improvements along Shire Lane and the A1 South.
George Breed, senior land and planning manager Persimmon Nottingham, said: “We are excited to submit our first reserved matters application for Fernwood South. This development represents a significant investment in the Newark area, bringing a wide range of high-quality homes and community amenities.
“We look forward to working with Newark and Sherwood District Council and local stakeholders to deliver this important project for local homebuyers.”
