Microlise ‘containing and clearing’ cybersecurity breach
Nottingham transport tech firm Microlise says it is making “substantial progress” after a cybersecurity incident caused disruption to its services last week.
The firm said it had detected “unauthorised activity” on its network last Thursday (October 31) which led to a “large portion” of its services being affected and a disruption to its services.
However, this morning (October 6), Microlise confirmed that is was containing and clearing the threat from its network and bringing services back online, with services returning to normal by the end of next week.
A statement from the company said: “Investigations into the incident are continuing, however, the company is confident that no customer systems data has been compromised. The investigations to date have identified that some limited employee data has been impacted by the incident. Those individuals that may have been impacted will be notified in line with the company’s regulatory obligations and the relevant authorities are being made aware including the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK.
“As matters currently stand, the company remains of the view that this incident will not have a material adverse impact on its forecasts or financial position.”
