Joint agent appointed to let shopping centre units
Real estate company CBRE has been appointed, alongside FHP, as joint agent on the Derbion shopping centre in Derby.
The plan focuses on improving the existing retailer mix while attracting new brands, as well as food, beverage and leisure tenants.
The CBRE team includes Stephen Proudley, Emi Turner, Amy Carroll, and Lucia Sanderson, who bring a combined 46 years of experience in Central London and regional markets
Derbion is a retail destination in the UK and has seen around £35m in investment since 2021. It attracts more than 15 million visitors annually.
The centre already hosts over 200 retailers, including Next, Zara, M&S, and Hugo Boss. Recent additions include Castore and White Stuff, while brands like JD, Superdrug, and New Look have invested in store upgrades.
It also offers a variety of food options and leisure attractions, including Showcase Cinema de Lux, Paradise Island Adventure Golf, and Hollywood Bowl.
Additionally, the £4m Eastern Gateway project, partly funded by the Government’s Future High Streets Fund, is underway to create a new entrance and urban garden, improving connections between Derbion and the city centre.
Michael Boundy, director of Asset Management at Derbion, said: “Supported by trusted advisers, our best-in-class on-site team has enabled us to move quickly over recent years and take an agile approach to everything from marketing and operations to leasing and strategic planning. This has resulted in an increased market share and significant growth. With CBRE on board, we hope to take this approach to a new level as we broaden our offer for customers through new and exciting openings and expanded stores.”
Stephen Proudley, head of northern retail at CBRE said: “By drawing on CBRE’s teams in Manchester, Birmingham and London, we can leverage our breadth of expertise to deliver best-in-class retail and leisure leasing advice for Derbion. Alongside a wider asset management strategy that goes beyond just retail, this ensures an integrated approach and provides our clients with access to the wider CBRE service offering.”
