Developer gets go-ahead for first phase of Derbyshire scheme

The developer hopes to gets planning permission for the footbridge and connecting triangle land

Plans are underway at Persimmon Homes’ Buttercup Leys development in Boulton Moor, as South Derbyshire District Council has given the green light for a new range of community amenities.

The approval paves the way for new playing pitches, a sports pavilion, allotments and extra car parking.

Construction on these new facilities will kick off in the coming weeks, marking the next step in the wider development.

The wider development will provide new homes and additional infrastructure, with plans also being finalised for a footbridge and connecting land.

A spokesperson for Persimmon Homes North Midlands said: “We’re pleased that South Derbyshire District Council has granted planning permission for the creation of this key infrastructure at our Boulton Moor development. We are also working with the council to finalise the technical details for the proposed footbridge, submitting a revised application in October 2024, which takes into account the development in its current form.

“Once planning permission has been received for the footbridge and connecting triangle land, we will be working to deliver this infrastructure as soon as possible, working closely with relevant consultees during this process.”
