Derby suburb property snapped up for new convenience store

A new tenant has been secured for a two-storey mixed-use property in a Derby suburb.

Iliral is now the tenant and plans to transform the space into a local convenience store, expanding its network of similar stores across the Midlands.

Located on Highfield Road in Littleover, the property was previously a hair salon.

The deal was facilitated by Salloway Property Consultants, with Hugo Beresford overseeing the transaction.

The landlord was represented by David Freedman (Laurence Stephens Solicitors), while the tenant was supported by Ben Freckingham (P & F Commercial) and Zahid Khan (Allerton & Gladstone Solicitors).

Beresford said: “The opportunity offered any tenant the ability to sub-let the residential parts and thus generate their own rental income, should they not require live/work accommodation on-site. Unsurprisingly, there was a strong level of interest as soon as the property came to the market, with the successful tenant, Iliral, now intending to convert the retail space into a new local convenience store.”
