Hundreds of homes given green light in north Notts

Hundreds of new homes in Mansfield have been given the go-ahead.
Mansfield District Council’s planning committee have voted to approve the reserved matters application for 372 new homes on Abbott Road.
The site is allocated for housing in the Mansfield Local Plan and already had outline planning permission in place.
The scheme will be made up of 1- to 4-bedroom houses. Some 27 of the new homes will be provided as affordable rent or shared ownership.
Persimmon have agreed a £2.4m Section 106 agreement, including £1.4m towards primary school education in the Pleasley planning area.
Almost half a million pounds will also be invested in a new or existing bus service and more than quarter of a million will go towards off-site highway improvements.
The scheme will also include over 6 acres of public open space.
Two children’s play areas will also be incorporated into the development.
George Breed, senior land and planning manager for Persimmon Nottingham said: “We’re pleased that Councillors have approved these plans for hundreds of high-quality new homes for local people.
“It’s going to be fantastic to see this area develop and we look forward to continuing to work with the Council, local stakeholders and residents as these plans progress.”
