400-strong care services company adds Leicester business to portfolio

Social care charity We Change Lives (WCL) has acquired Leicester residential care business PSA Care Services and its subsidiaries for an undisclosed sum.
PSA Care Services traded as Creative Care, operating six supported living homes with 21 residents in the Leicester area, all currently rated Good by the Care Quality Commission.
The acquisition brings the number of WCL residential properties to 24, caring for a total of supported individuals to 126. The number of staff in the WCL group rises to 426.
Originally founded in Warrington, WCL’s services are commissioned by local authorities, NHS integrated care partnerships and private clients across the North West and now into the Midlands.
WCL reported income of £9.5m in its 2024 year-end results.
The group specialises in Complex Behaviour Supported Living, offering highly personalised care for individuals with significant needs with tailored support plans, positive behaviour management strategies, and specially trained staff. The focus is to empower people to live independently, manage risks and actively participate in their communities.
Phil Sermon, chief executive officer of We Change Lives, said: “This is an exciting milestone in our five-year growth strategy and follows on from our acquisition of 3L Care in September 2023.
“By expanding into new areas, we’re ensuring people can access the high-quality, people-centred care they deserve. Our focus remains on developing specialist complex care and supported living services that truly make a difference in people’s lives.”
Funding for the acquisition was provided by Barclays Bank, legal advice was provided by Bevan Brittan and financial advice by Kent Finance.
