Northants manufacturer rolled into administration

A Northants manufacturer of printing press rollers has gone into administration putting 28 jobs at risk.

Chris Farrington and Matt Cowlishaw of Deloitte were appointed Joint Administrators of RotaDyne UK yesterday (29 March 2016).

RotaDyne (UK) is part of the global RotaDyne group, based in the USA, with factories located in North and South America, Germany and China. The company is the UK’s largest manufacturer of precision rubber-covered rollers, including a range of press ready rollers which it despatches to customers in the printing industry across the world.

The administration appointment is solely over the UK operation in Kettering.

Farrington said: “The business operates in very competitive market conditions, with the decline in printed media industry already well documented.

“Nevertheless, the feedback we have received so far from industry figures suggest that RotaDyne UK has highly admired products and people that we hope will make it an attractive target for buyers who can move quickly to seize the opportunity.

“It is therefore our intention to allow the business to continue trading in the short-term so as to find a buyer as soon as possible.

“We have not announced any redundancies to date, as maintaining the highly skilled workforce and continuing to serve the company’s loyal customers is a priority.”
