BoJo hits the East Midlands campaign trail

Boris Johnson MP was in the region today visiting local businesses as part of the Vote Leave campaign ahead of the referendum on 23 June.

Along with Labour MP and fellow Leave campaigner, Gisela Stuart, he visited Alfreton-based British luxury clothing manufacturer David Nieper. n Britain with the best of British skills.

Despite Brexit fears, the Vote Leave camp says recent sales show European demand for quality British made fashion at record levels.

The former Mayor of London met with managing director Christopher Nieper and some of the 230 employees at the British luxury women’s wear manufacturer; he also tried his hand at one of the machine stations whilst touring the shop floor.

Johnson and Stuart then travelled to Nottingham to visit builders’ merchant John A Stephens.

They were given a guided tour around the 7 acre manufacturing site and spoke to some of the 105 employees based at the £25m turnover business.
