5 things to do in the East Midlands this weekend

Lord Mayor’s Parade
Date: Saturday 2nd July
Location: Old market square and Nottingham Castle, Nottingham

Watch a horse and carriage ceremonial parade from the Council House to Nottingham Castle, followed by free entry to Nottingham Castle where there will be live music, stalls and free activities. The new Lord Mayor and Sheriff of Nottingham will be sworn in and the city blessed.

Summer Raas and Garba Spectacular
Date: 5pm – 12pm Saturday 2nd July
Location: Shree Prajapati Hall, Ulverscroft Road, Leicester

Put on your dancing shoes for a night of energetic, playful dancing in Leicester this Saturday. Don’t worry if you’ve got two left feet as there will be a workshop with a dance tutor from 5-7pm. Food and snacks will be available on the night and there will be prizes for the best dressed.

Location: Leicester Racecourse

This year’s Ladies Day is set to be packed with live music, entertainment, competitions for the best dressed lady, local street food stalls and of course, live horse racing.

Peakender Beer Festival
Date: Friday 1st July – Sunday 3rd July
Location: Great Longstone, Bakewell, Derbyshire

This weekend, enjoy world famous beers in the stunning settin of the Peak District. A great range of Thornbridge cask, keg and bottled beer will be available, as well as great local foods, live music and DJs.
