On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Leicester-based creative agency, Rock Kitchen Harris has expanded its team by taking on its first ever apprentice.
Georgia Ball has joined the company on a 12-month apprenticeship whilst studying for a level 3 qualification in Digital Marketing and Social Media. During her placement, she will be responsible for creating marketing e-mails whilst also learning about the other aspects of the RKH business, including advertising, design and social media.
She said: “Rock Kitchen Harris was recommended to me. When I researched it, I was really drawn to the atmosphere there. It seemed calm and friendly but also incredibly productive.”
The placement was organised by the national training provider, 3AAA – a company that specialises in Digital Marketing. 3AAA works with local employers, such as RKH, to offer young people a pathway into their chosen career.
Rock Kitchen Harris client services director, Jamie Mollart, said: “We’re really excited about welcoming Georgia into our team. We believe the scheme will offer great industry experience whilst also allowing us to diversify our existing team skill set and expand our client offering.”
Karen Harrison
A commercial contracts lawyer with more than 25 years’ experience has joined national professional services business Knights.
Karen Harrison joins the growing team at its Derby office as a partner, bringing a wealth of experience in non-contentious IT and intellectual property, data protection and freedom of information issues.
“The demand for support in IT, IP and data protection issues has grown rapidly,” said Harrison.
She added: “It’s now commonplace to work with IT and large amounts of data. And with the EU referendum around the corner it’s an important time in data protection law; post-referendum businesses could find themselves facing huge 20 million euro fines by 2018 if they aren’t in-line with regulations, so it’s our role to ensure clients are ready for any change.”
