A new recruitment firm which is backed by an ex-England international football player says it is already planning for the next stage of its growth after a “stellar” first six months of business.

Distinct Recruitment was set up in January by James Calder, former CEO at Macildowie.

Calder set up the business in January of this year and is now joined by a 10-strong team made up of former Macildowie colleagues at the Landmark building in Tudor Square, West Bridgford with the backing of former Nottingham Forest and Spurs player and current Hull City captain Michael Dawson as non-executive director and Paul Macildowie as chairman.

Calder, along with colleague and director of Distinct Arran Jaiswal, has invested £250,000 into Distinct, which specialises in accountancy and finance, human resources, procurement and supply chain and sales and marketing.

Calder said: “We’re not your average recruitment agency. We’re not driven by targets, quotas or money, we’re driven by people. We believe that people are the most important part of everything we do. It’s this belief that drives our approach, ensuring we take the time to fully understand you as an individual.

“The first six months have been hard work – but great fun, and we’re ready to take the business to the next level. We’ll be looking at creating further jobs and expanding Distinct by over three times its current capacity. These are exciting times.”
