Digital agency ready to reveal “big announcements”

Matt Wheatcroft

Full service digital agency Purpose Media has doubled its team to 30 in the last nine months.

The company has seen the investment in an additional property, two business acquisitions, 15 new team members and a doubling of turnover.

Purpose Media was founded in 2009 and originally provided e-commerce web development and a number of retained support services. It has since developed into a full service digital agency.

Managing director Matt Wheatcroft said: “Making the business scalable has always been part of our plan, but seeing the numbers double in such a short space of time is really encouraging. Every time we get together as a team, it really hits home how far we’ve come – and we don’t plan on stopping there.”

Purpose Media says it is currently on the lookout for developers to join their team in both junior and senior roles, particularly those with expertise with HTML5, CSS, PHP and Javascript.

Technical director Tim Lenton said: “We’ve got some fantastic development projects on the horizon that could really take the team to the next level. If we continue to bring in the right calibre of staff, and exciting new projects, I don’t see why our growth won’t continue.”

The agency’s development has aligned with their recent plans for strategic growth. Wheatcroft suffered an injury in the summer of 2015 which allowed him time to consider how his pivotal role was within the business.

He said: “Breaking three vertebrae in my neck in the summer of 2015 was a huge turning point as it gave me a lot of time for reflection and planning. I returned to work and set about making the changes that would make the business independent of any one individual but still ensure fast and scalable growth.

“I’m proud of the people we’ve brought in; there’s definitely a lot of authority and expertise around our offices and we’re continuing to attract the right sort of people. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the team as we’ve got a few big announcements around the corner.”
