Bygott Biggs reveals ambitious expansion plans

Richard Winfieldale with Jane Biggs

Nottingham headquartered legal recruitment specialist Bygott Biggs is set to expand its West Midlands operation and has told TheBusinessDesk.com that it is looking to push into Leeds and Manchester.

Bygott Biggs has appointed Richard Winfieldale as associate director to lead the firm’s West Midlands expansion.

Based at its new Birmingham office in Snow Hill, Winfieldale will look to build on the the recruiter’s presence in the region since it first identified the West Midlands as an opportunity for growth back in late 2014.

Winfieldale has been a legal recruiter since 1996. For the past 20 years, he has assisted law firms with senior and strategic appointments, often through a formal search-driven process.

Managing director Jane Biggs said: “We’ve been in Nottingham for over 21 years and have built a fantastic reputation with lawyers among both private practice and in-house departments.

“Our main focus has naturally been on the East Midlands region but we have also done a great deal of work with London lawyers looking to move out of the City. That can be up to the East or West Midlands and we are want to be in a position to serve both to the best of our ability. Richard’s appointment will ensure we can do just that.

“We’ve always worked in the West Midlands market but it hadn’t been a strategic focus for the business until relatively recently. Now, with Richard onboard, we are pushing ahead with our growth plans so that we can actively recruit for lawyers across the whole of the Midlands.”

Winfieldale said: “I have joined Bygott Biggs at a very exciting time. The market is in a fascinating phase, with restructures, acquisitions and changes to operating practice meaning that a consultative approach to recruiting for firms is essential.

“I have always worked with a very personal approach to service provision and I know that is how Jane and the team have always worked too. I look forward to playing my part in expanding our presence in the West Midlands legal market.”
