A NOTTINGHAM-BASED e-learning company has been snapped up by a Northern Irish business.

Mind Click, which specialises in corporate learning and has additional offices in Brighton, has been acquired by Learning Pool.

Mind Click was established in 2010 by Sean Reddington and three fellow directors. It provides corporate learning in areas including compliance training, product knowledge and customer service training, and counts clients such as DFS, AstraZeneca, Boots,  Farrow & Ball, Google, Sky and Travelodge among its customers.

Derry-based Learning Pool was founded in 2006 by Paul McElvaney and has grown to become Northern Ireland’s largest e-learning company.

Following its acquisition of Mind Click, Learning Pool will employ over 120 people in Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Sean Reddington, Mind Click’s managing director, is reinvesting in the expanded business and will join Learning Pool’s strategic management team. He will now work alongside CEO Paul McElvaney to grow the business further with new product development and expansion into new markets.

Paul McElvaney said: “I’m delighted to welcome Mind Click to the Learning Pool family.  The company’s organic growth in recent years has been remarkable and driven by genuine innovation and customer focus. These are attributes that we share at Learning Pool and I’m confident that this acquisition will be a springboard to deliver more innovative training solutions to our clients.

Sean Reddington added: “The combination of our two organisations will provide a compelling end-to-end learning solution for customers in a market that is growing globally.”

The deal was brokered by Cooper Parry Corporate Finance.  Legal advice provided by Austin Moore.

David Browne, corporate finance partner at Cooper Parry, said: “The acquisition is set to be a fantastic move for both businesses, strengthening their position in their individual markets.

“Mind Click will bring a new dimension to Learning Pool’s offering. Similarly, Learning Pool’s suite of e-learning catalogues will help Mind Click’s client base deliver increased return on their training and compliance budgets.”
