Darren Messias Scoops Acclaimed Hairdressing Honour

KH Hair’s Darren Messias has been awarded an accolade in British Hairdressing after receiving the Fellow with Honours award by the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, which this year celebrates its 70th anniversary.

Darren, who is Managing Director at KH Hair alongside business partner Tim Fee, received this highly sought-after prize at the Fellowship’s Annual Luncheon at the iconic Dorchester Hotel in London on 5th December. He joins an elite group of leading figures within British hairdressing in recognition of services to both the Fellowship and the industry as a whole.

The Fellowship selects candidates who are making a mark in the industry, going above and beyond to contribute to the Fellowship and its activities, as well as promoting UK hairdressing as a whole.

Darren has been a member of the Fellowship for 20 years and regularly takes part in stage work, masterclasses and tutoring as well as securing opportunities for the KH Hair Art Team and newly launched Colour Team to showcase their work to peers across the country.

On accepting his award, Darren commented: “I am truly honoured and humbled to be named Fellow with Honours. I work closely with the Fellowship, both as an individual and as a business, and thoroughly enjoy doing so. They do a fantastic job showcasing the high level of talent and expertise we have in British hairdressing and I’m proud to be associated with such an iconic organisation, particularly in the year of their 70th anniversary.”

Karine Jackson, Chancellor of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, said: “We are delighted to welcome Darren Messias to the group of Fellows with Honours, representing the crème de la crème of British hairdressing. This is a very special year for us and we have been working hard to develop our activities across the Midlands and North of the UK as part of the celebrations so it is especially fitting that Darren is named Fellow with Honours this year as he and KH Hair are an exceptionally creative force throughout the country with their roots in the East Midlands dating back to the 1940s.”
