YourNews: Lincoln British Hamper Company celebrates year of export success

In the run up to the busy Christmas period, The British Hamper Company is celebrating another successful year, having experienced a significant rise in its exporting capacity. The company’s increased success has been aided by constant support from the Department for International Trade (DIT), which has championed the company since its inception in 2014.

The Lincoln company exports to over 50 countries worldwide, including many throughout Europe as well as the USA, Canada, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, South Korea and Japan. Its continued success has resulted in steady expansion at home and abroad.

Due to the company’s growth in 2015, this year it was able to negotiate competitive courier rates which enabled a significant reduction in the cost of export orders. This has resulted in 100% growth in its exports to the USA.

Ian Harrison, DIT’s Acting Regional Director for the Midlands commented, “Everyone at DIT is thrilled to hear of The British Hamper Company’s continued success, and it’s a source of immense pride that we’ve been able to assist them as they continue to expand into new markets around the world. Lincoln businesses looking to capitalise on the demand for British food and drink expertise around the world should visit great.gov.uk to find out more.”

James Tod, The British Hamper Company’s Managing Director commented: “We’ve had superb support from the Department for International Trade and the Exporting is GREAT campaign from day one. Since we began the business we’ve received regular advice from our International Trade Adviser Dale Atkins, who has helped us in many ways, including educating us on which markets could be of benefit to us, and prompting us to look at opening South Korea, Japan and Singapore as delivery destinations, all of which are now proving to be great export markets.”

The company is hoping its year of success will continue into Christmas, The British Hamper Company’s most important time of year. James added: “We began planning this Christmas in January as we aim to achieve a significant increase in orders this year. Our festive season properly kicks off in October when we begin packing our Christmas Hampers in preparation for the main ordering period in December.”
