Coopers Lane site in Knowsley gets £2m grant

A 3.8 HECTARE brownfield site at the entrance to Knowsley Business Park is to be transformed with a grant of £2m from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The money will be used to help develop the first phase of a new business park on the site at Coopers Lane. Developer River Street Assets is planning to build two offices on the site which could be subdivided into 13 individual units. The buildings will provide a total of around 130,000 sq ft of space.

Specifically, the grant will be used for site clearance, preparation and the installation of infrastructure works.

David Malpass, Director of the European Programme at the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), commented: “ERDF investment is really going to transform Knowsley’s Business Park, providing much needed space for businesses looking to move into the area.

“The mixed-use nature of the business park will ensure that a variety of businesses are catered for, making this an attractive location for investment in the future.”

Flo Clucas, of Liverpool City Council, saod “ERDF investment has paved the way for the creation of new, flexible office accommodation that will increase Knowsley’s appeal as a location for business.
