Royal Television Awards announce awards ceremony

THE Royal Television Society has announced its annual North West awards ceremony will be held at Manchester’s Hilton Deansgate.

The evening, on November14, will bring together more than 400 actors, soap stars, television producers and directors to celebrate the best in the region.

The 21 award categories will showcase drama and entertainment programmes, low budget programmes, regional news and multiplatform productions.

The RTS NW has also decided to halve the price of entries for this year.

Helen Bullough, chair of the RTS NW, said: “We’re fantastically proud of our creative industries, and we’re also acutely aware that everyone is operating in a difficult financial climate; making the achievements and output of individuals, companies and broadcasters in the North West even more of a cause for celebration.”
