£25m Salford student scheme completes

X1 The Campus

Investment property consultancy Knight Knox and developer X1 have announced the completion of X1 The Campus Phase 1, their eighth student accommodation development in the North West.

Valued at £24.7m, X1 The Campus Phase 1 is located next to the University of Salford’s Frederick Road Campus and will serve the thousands of students who study there.

Students will be moving in from this Friday, September 14, ahead of the new academic year.

X1 The Campus Phase 1 consists of two blocks containing 271 apartments between them, including large studios and premium upper floor units.

The development includes a landscaped garden, communal lounges, a gymnasium, a cinema room, secure bicycle storage and underground car parking spaces for select apartments.

Andy Phillips, commercial director at Knight Knox, said: “We are extremely pleased by the completion of X1 The Campus Phase 1, our latest student accommodation development.

“The University of Salford is popular with students from around the world and all of them need high quality rental accommodation during the course of their studies.

“We are confident that the location of X1 The Campus will make it a popular option for students looking to be close to the university, but also within easy reach of Manchester city centre and Salford Quays.”

Melissa Green, operations and regional director at X1, said: “We had high hopes for X1 The Campus based on the success of our previous student accommodation developments in the region, and it is fair to say that with the completion of Phase 1 we have surpassed them.

“As well as its location next to the university campus, the development is also adjacent to the Salford Crescent Masterplan which is set to transform the area and will help to make X1 The Campus Phase 1 an irresistible option for local students.”

X1 The Campus Phase 2 – a nearby £7m development containing 76 apartments – is also sold out and construction is scheduled to begin soon.
