Carmen Ching, Head of Sales, Salboy

Salboy Group, the property development and funding company, has named Carmen Ching as the Group’s first Head of Sales. Carmen, a senior director at Salboy since 2020, becomes the first person to be handed a global remit to lead Salboy’s international sales strategy. 

For the last three years, Carmen has been Salboy’s Head of Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong. Following her promotion and reporting to Simon Ismail, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Salboy Group, Carmen will continue to lead Sales in Asia from Hong Kong while directing a global sales strategy that is implemented across the world in Manchester, London, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and the Middle East. 

With 16 years’ experience in international residential property including leading the international residential team at Colliers, Carmen has developed a strong and vast client base across South-East and North-East Asia.

Liam Hanlon

Liam Hanlon, managing director of Knowsley-based The Forshaw Group has taken on the role of chair of the Subsidence Forum at the organisation’s recent Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Forum is open to any organisation or individual involved with the insured subsidence risk and is made up of different industry sectors that work across subsidence.  

The Forshaw Group has been a long-time supporter of the aims of the Subsidence Forum, and the appointment comes following Liam’s 12-month role as vice chair.

Steve Good is to be the new Chair of Norcros, with effect from 1 July 2023.  He will assume the role of Non-Executive Board Chair upon the retirement of David McKeith, the current Acting Board Chair. Currently a non-executive director of Elementis plc, where he chairs the remuneration committee, Good was until very recently the non-executive chair of Zotefoams plc and Devro plc.  He has previously served as a non-executive director of Dialight plc.  In his executive career Steve was chief executive of Low & Bonar plc between 2009 and 2014, where he had previously held various senior roles since 2004.

Accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young Manchester has appointed a new Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer. The promotions reflect the firm’s 5-year plan to double the size of the company. Paul Daly (CFO) and Stephen Grayson (COO) will continue their roles as Audit Partners, however take on additional responsibility across the practice to assist with the growth plan.

Ryan Wear, current Partner, has been appointed as Head of Audit, overseeing a team of over 60 professionals. Zoe Duffy, currently Staff Partner, has been promoted to Head of Talent, responsible for the recruitment and development of the firm’s workforce. Chris Oxley, also a Partner, has been named Head of Accounts and Business Advisory.

Catherine Lo

Leading commercial law firm, Primas Law, has expanded its corporate team with the appointment of Catherine Lo as Senior Associate at the firm’s recently opened Liverpool office.

She specialises in corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, group reorganisations and joint ventures as well as advising on shareholder agreements, corporate governance  and constitutional documentation, and joins the firm from Bermans.

Beyond her legal work, Catherine is also involved in a newly-formed charity committee by the Liverpool Ladies Network, working together to raise funds for and awareness of The Hive Wirral Youth Zone.
