Chess completes trio of deals

BUSINESS telecoms provider Chess has announced that it has completed three deals within the first few months of 2012.

Sums for the transactions were not revealed, but the company said the deals would add around £3.3m to its turnover and bring in an additional 1,500 customers to the company.

Chess said that its flexible “buy and build” strategy has been used to make the acquisitions. This means that the three firms acquired – Supply Communications, Rely Telecom and Deep Blue Networks – will continue to trade under their own brands but take wholesale services from Chess.

David Pollock, chief executive of Alderley Edge-based Chess, said: “2012 is set to be an exciting year for us as our acquisition list continues to grow. Our integration approach is the most advanced making us the market leader in consolidation of small-to-medium-sized telecom resellers.”

Richard Btesh, director at Chess, said: “With the backing of Barclays Bank, we’ve a significant acquisition fund left to spend. We’re always on the lookout for new acquisitions and have the cash, experience and ability to move quickly.”
