Property briefs: Xercise4Less, Space Invader, Planit-IE

LOW cost gym operator Xercise4Less has taken a 38,000 sq ft former retail warehouse at Central Retail Park in Bolton.
Manchester-based property manager Riddell TPS let the space on behalf of Zolfo Cooper, administrators of Trostre Retail, a Cheshire property developer which went into administration in January.
Leeds-based Xercise4Less has signed a 12-year lease park which is also home to Pets atHome, Brantano and Carpetright.
Andy Crompton og Riddell TPS said: “It demonstrates the retail park’s continued attractiveness to both retailers and local residents, in terms of its town centre location, prominence and ease of accessibility given its location at the junction of Manchester Road and Trinity Street.”

Planit-IE to host an evening with Kim Nielsen and Kasper Jorgensen of 3XN Architects
LANDSCAPE architects Planit-IE is hosting an evening with Kim Nielsen and Kasper Jorgensen of Danish architects 3XN at its office in Altrincham this evening.
The two companies are working on the new £120m Copenhagen Arena, and other projects.
Nielsen and Jorgensen will deliver a lecture titled, “Pushing Sustainable Innovation to the Limit – for Building Design and the People Within it”, which will also be given at the World Architecture Festival in Singapore this week.
After the presentation, Manchester-based Steven Hodder, president of the Royal Institute of British Architects, will lead a debate on the topics raised.
Pete Swift, Planit-IE director, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting an evening with Kim and Kasper, we are sure it will lead to a lively debate among our guests, and who knows where that could lead to.”
Planit-IE was established in 1998 and is run by Peter Swift and Edward Lister with studios in Altrincham, London and Liverpool.

SPACE Invader, a specialist interior design studio based in Manchester, has been appointed by Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine and her partner Chris Farr, to design their new city centre bar and restaurant.
Annies is set to be a 4,600 sq ft bar and restaurant spread across three floors of the Grade II-listed Royal Exchange building.
Sarah Dodsworth, associate at Space Invader, said: “The brief was to create a place for friends and family to eat, drink and socialise in a relaxing environment that is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
“As a result we have carefully selected a variety of furniture and accessories, exactly as you would find in your own home. We have also included some subtle contextual details that reflect the building’s history as one of Manchester’s leading theatres.”
Manchester City Council has approved plans for the vacant unit on Old Bank Street. Work has started and it should open later this year.
