No rubbish jokes from Dave Spikey

NORTH West comedian kept rubbish jokes to a minimum as he opened a £12m recycling facility yesterday.
The Bolton-born comic, a keen recycler, launched a new materials recovery facility in Sharston, south Manchester, and will be fronting a new campaign to encourage people in Greater Manchester to recycle the right items.
The material recovery facility (MRF) separates plastic bottles, glass bottles and jars, cans, tins and tin foil ready for recycling.
As one of the most modern plants in Europe, the facility uses a range of state-of-the-art technologies, including the UK’s only ‘Aladdin Laser’ sorting technology, to separate different types of plastic bottles.
Dave Spikey said: “It is hugely important that we do our bit to save the planet and recycling the right items is something everyone can get involved in. We all need to remember that the only plastics you can recycle are plastic bottles.”
Cllr Neil Swannick, chair of Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority, added: “It is important that we all recycle the right items, in order to fully utilise the exceptional MRF technology and continue to increase Greater Manchester’s recycling rates. Only with help from residents can we achieve our aim of zero waste.”
Greater Manchester residents will receive an information pack featuring Dave Spikey, through their door in January. This will tell them some of the common things that are often mistakenly put into the recycling bin.
