Appointments: New moves at Leonard Curtis, DTZ, BCL and Beachcroft

TAX expert Daniel Booth has been appointed the national head of LC Corporate Strategies, the turnaround division of Bury-based insolvency specialist Leonard Curtis.

Booth, who was previously business development manager at the firm, will continue to develop its expertise on advising firms with debts to HM Revenue & Customs of between £30,000 and £4m on negotiating restructurings.

“We are developing LC Corporate Strategies as a truly national operation,” said Booth. “We know these are very challenging times for business but we have the knowledge and skills needed to ensure that business owners don’t just survive but thrive in this tough financial climate. With help there are workable solutions to almost any
problem.”

COMMERCIAL estate agent DTZ has expanded its regional media team with the appointment of Hannah Gurnham as a marketing and communications executive to raise the profile of the company’s work across the north of England.

Based in Manchester, Hannah will cover Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.

She has previously worked for Manchester City Council, Mott MacDonald Group and the Institution of Structural Engineers on a variety of campaigns relating to the built environment.

LEGAL recruiter BCL Legal has appointed Louise Abbey to its growing North West team.

Abbey, 26, has joined the firm as a consultant and will focus on the recruitment ofLouise Abbey solicitors and paralegals into the private practice sector throughout Greater Manchester and the North West. Her areas will include family, crime, private client, civil litigation and consumer credit. 

She has been in the recruitment sector for three years and has worked in both Manchester and London. Her previous roles have been at Taylor Green Recruitment and Hydrogen.

She said; “I’m really excited to be working at BCL Legal. The legal market in the North West is very dynamic so this is a great time to be joining the firm.”

LAW firm Beachcroft has appointed a new associate in its Manchester employment and pensions group.

Emma Morgan advises on a broad range of employment issues, including unfair dismissal, TUPE and discrimination.

She specialises in business immigration and TUPE work and is experienced in dealing with the employment aspects of corporate transactions and commercial contracts.

Beachcroft has promoted 20 new associates across its ten UK offices taking the total number of associates in the firm to 169. This is in addition to the appointment of seven new partners.
