US infrastructure firm buys Biwater Services

NORTH West water-based construction and engineering firm Biwater Holdings has been bought by a US infrastructure specialist.
Heywood, Lancashire -based Biwater is a holding company for three businesses, Biwater Treatment, Farrer Consulting and BiProduct Recovery jointly employing 675 staff.
Financial terms of the deal with Colorado-based MWH Global, which has more than 7,000 staff worldwide, were not disclosed.
Robert B. Uhler, chairman and chief executive of MWH Global said: “Together, we provide a broader range of skills to address the creation, management and optimization of existing wet infrastructure assets.
“This is especially relevant recognizing changing, and sometimes conflicting, demands of energy, infrastructure rehabilitation, refurbishment, efficiency and carbon reduction,.
“We have enhanced our ability to service the full asset life cycle of our clients from feasibility through commissioning and operation.”
