Savills moves to Belvedere

PROPERTY consultancy Savills is to move its Manchester city centre office to The Belvedere building at Booth Street.
The firm has taken the entire first floor of the building – around 13,700 sq ft of space – on a new 15-year lease.
The firm is relocating all of its staff in the city from the nearby Fountain Court building, where it occupies three floors. The move is expected to complete by the end of April.
Savills becomes the second international property consultancy to take space in the building within the past few months following CBRE’s switch from the nearby Chancery building. It agreed to take on the fifth floor of the building in July last year.
Other tenants in the building, which is owned by Orchard Street Investment Management, include corporate financier Altium, debt purchaser Arrow Global, Steelcase Solutions and fit-out company Paragon Interiors.
Andrew Jenkins of Orchard Street said: “We are delighted to welcome Savills to the building. This letting provides further testimony to the quality of Belvedere and its location within Manchester’s prime office core.”
Howard Morgan, head of Savills’ Manchester office, said: “This is a hugely positive move for Savills and is in response to the substantial growth that the office has achieved since its establishment over 14 years ago.
“The new space offers an impressive specification in a superb and central location where we have already built up a reputation as a leading force in the Manchester property market. In addition, it also provides a platform for the office to grow further.”
Orchard Street Investment Management was advised by Jones Lang LaSalle and WHR.
