Ainscough buys three new sites

AINSCOUGH Strategic Land, the property business run by former Ainscough Crane Hire chairman Martin Ainscough, has added three new sites to its portfolio.
The sites, which total around 40 acres, have been purchased with a view to creating “sustainable” urban extension projects.
The company has bought a site at Carlton Village, near Selby in Yorkshire, It has also bought a site at Grange Over Sands overlooking the Morecambe Estuary and at Barwell in Leicestershire.
The company said that it expects to bring each of the sites forward over the next 18 months.
“We spend a lot of time investigating and identifying sites. said managing director Nigel McGurk.
“Crucially, beyond acquisition, ASL has the skills and resources to be able to invest the expertise and money required to deliver high quality projects which stand the test of time.
“ASL works with a real emphasis on what the local community wants and needs – a position strengthened by the recent Decentralisation and Localism Bill.
Ainscough Strategic Land (ASL) specialises in promoting all kinds of brown and greenfield sites, often complex ones with challenging planning issues.
The company works closely with the public sector and community groups to take sites through planning and achieve the most sustainable use of land. ASL currently has six active public consultations underway across the country, including the former Ski Yoghurt factory at Cuddington in Cheshire.
“We are looking forward to working with local communities around the new sites,” said McGurk.
