DWF advises on Mann Island funding deal

LAW firm DWF advised the developers of Mann Island, one of Liverpool’s most high profile new developments, on a £45m funding deal by Commerz Real.

The German fund has agreed to provide finance for a 13-storey, 140,000 sq ft office scheme being developed by Neptune Developments and Countryside Properties

The building will be the new headquarters of Merseytravel and will be fully pre-let on a 30-year lease.

Construction work will now start immediately and run alongside the ongoing work on the residential element of the scheme.

The Mann Island scheme is located next to Liverpool’s ‘Three Graces’ – the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool building – overlooking the River Mersey. The site also includes 376 apartments and the new Liverpool museum.

The DWF team included partner Guy Wallis and associate Julie Simms from the real estate team, and partner Paul O’Kane, solicitor James Clayton and senior legal advisor Jo Merrick from the construction team.
Julie Simms said: ““Mann Island is a key site within Liverpool and will play a major role in the transformation of the city’s waterfront.”
