Pochin pockets schools contracts

CHESHIRE-based Pochin Construction is building on its education portfolio with three new contracts to build at schools and colleges across the North West, collectively worth £3.3m.
The company has started the construction of an 11,840 sq ft building at The Grange Junior School in Hartford, Cheshire.
The £1.9m new build has been designed to be in-keeping with the existing school buildings and will include a sports hall with changing facilities, a music department with practice rooms and a science and technology area with fully fitted laboratories.
In another contract worth £900,000, the company has also been appointed to build a new 7,857 sq ft sports hall at All Saints College in Rawtenstall.
Finally, it is to build a new 4,650 sq ft single storey classroom block at Westwood College in Leek, for just under £500,000.
Around half of the new block will be used as a drama and dance studio for students, with the remainder of the building providing additional classroom facilities.
Jon Pochin, managing director of Pochin Construction, said: “Pochin Construction is building an impressive portfolio within the education sector. In addition to our work at Bangor University, we are currently on site at Mid-Cheshire College, building what will be known as the Winsford Learning Zone.
“These three latest contracts are evidence that the Pochin name is becoming synonymous with the improvement of education facilities across the North West of England and Wales, and this is certainly an area that we hope to grow in the future.”
