Arley receives £23m to fund Chorley scheme

ARLEY Homes, the Warrington-based housebuilder, has received a funding package worth £23m to allow it to build 135 homes at its Duxbury Manor development in Chorley, Lancashire.

The scheme, which was granted planning approval in February 2010, will see an 11.7-acre site on land off Myles Standish Way being developed into a series of two, three, four and five bedroom houses. There will also be substantial green areas and children’s play sites linked by a series of pathways.

Dean Smith, regional property specialist at Yorkshire Bank’s Manchester Financial Solutions Centre, said: “This significant funding package for the acquisition and development of the Duxbury Manor site demonstrates our ongoing support for Arley Homes, a longstanding customer of the bank. This development will provide much-needed family housing to a high standard on a flagship site.”

John Cosgrave, managing director of Arley Homes, said: “Arley Homes has been one of the few housebuilders in the region to remain acquisitive and proactive in developing new housing developments during the recession.

“This has been due in part to the strong support we have enjoyed from parties such as Yorkshire Bank as well as a strong sales performance.”

Arley Homes recently completed the sale of all 28 properties at its Chanters Green scheme in Atherton and has also submitted planning for a fourth site in Chorley at Heath Charnock.

The company is also selling detached properties at Dunham Chase in Altrincham, Cheshire; The Maples in Fulwood, Preston; and at Knightswood in Cheadle Hulme.
