Euro Garages completes £12.3m Bolton West upgrade

EURO Garages has completed a major refurbishment and rebrand of the Bolton West Services on the M61.

Blackburn-based Euro Garages has spent £12.3m replacing both the former northbound and southbound service sites, which have now been renamed Rivington Services.

Euro Garages currently owns 70 freehold property garage frecourts and other sites throughout the UK, but Rivington has been its first move into Motorway Services.

The company acquired the site in July 2009 and they were voted as the worst services in the UK a year later following complaints about leaking roofs and dirty toilets.

However, much of the old buildings were demolished to make way for new glazed foodcourt areas with Starbucks, Subway and Burger King franchises.

Zuber Issa, chief executive of Euro Garages, said: “We acquired the site in 2009 Rivington Services, Boltonas we recognised we had the opportunity to transform it into one of the UK’s leading motorway services facilities. That potential has now been realised.

“Over 70,000 vehicles use the M61 everyday and as the only amenity on the motorway we know that Rivington Services will provide a welcome stop for passing motorists, whether they are commuters, holiday-makers or truck and coach drivers.

“What we have achieved at Rivington Services represents our commitment to providing quality offerings alongside excellent customer service and the site is a great addition to our portfolio.”
